doslenguas Press se complace en presentar la primera publicación bilingüe de Amar To Have and Not Hold, de Anabel Torres.

Open this book and take a glorious journey with a shapeshifter
who, confronted with the tragic beauty and indissoluble vicissitudes of love and life, leaps fearlessly into the chasm to find answers to questions beyond the range of the ordinary, mundane mind, using the great wings of the human imagination. These are high-charged poems, as empowering as they are quick-paced. They are as bracing as a breeze in Acapulco, where courageous youth plunge into the water from flowering cliffs.

Anabel Torres brings us beyond an affinity for the miraculous, to a state more transformative, more wondrous, more healing. These poems are designed to possess their reader utterly.

- George Wallace. Poet and Spoken Word performer, Writer-in-Residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace, first U.S. National Lifetime Beat Poet Laureate, and first Poet Laureate of Suffolk County, NY.

Anabel Torres

Colombian, poet, writer, translator and
interpreter. Anabel grew up between Bogotá,
Medellín and New York. She holds a BA in
Modern Languages from University of Antioquia
and an MA in Women and Development from
the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.

She won a national poetry award in Colombia
at age 26, and has never stopped writing poetry,
short stories, essays, and commentaries in
her two tongues. Her book Amar has been
published previously in Spain, Colombia
and Argentina.
